"What vitamins should I take during pandemic?"

Updated: Aug 25, 2021

Hi there! For those who don't know me, my name is Janna. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and have been working in health care settings since 2006. I am multi-state licensed and currently provide online health care services for a few states.

As a Primary Care Provider, I promote preventive health care. However, I always tell my patients that preventive care starts with you. I can only guide and coach you, but you are your own body manager and your health is in your hands.

If not COVID-19, I may keep postponing writing this blog. But with the current pandemic, I feel there is a need for the information.

I get many COVID-19 related questions from my patients, friends, family members during this difficult time. One of the most commonly asked questions is what vitamins should I take, what supplements do you recommend, how to boost my immune system to fight the virus?

I am happy to make a few recommendations. But, first and foremost, I want you to know there are no vitamins or supplements to help prevent corona virus. If you are deficient, which most of us are, certain vitamins can strengthen your immune system to fight the virus. Those vitamins and minerals are Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Zinc, and Melatonin.

My next recommendation is to be selective in your choices where you purchase those supplements because some manufactures produce less effective vitamins/supplements than others. After many years of learning about supplements, I finally found a great USA based manufacture that produces the most pure and potent, powerful and effective products on the market.

The name of the company is " Nature's Sunshine". The headquarters are based in Utah, USA.

#1 is Zinc.

The trace mineral zinc is involved in hundreds of important functions in the body, including sugar metabolism, DNA formation, protein metabolism and energy production. Great immune system support. You only need 1 TAB daily. This bottle will provide for you 150 days supply.

Here is the link to purchase. It is only $11.15 per bottle.

#2 is Vitamin C time release.

Vitamin C performs many functions involving the immune system and tissue development. It is involved in iron

absorption and in the syntheses of enzymes, hormones and proteins. The adrenal glands need large amounts of this nutrient in order to support immunity and help produce energy. Vitamin C is easily washed from the body and needs to be replaced constantly. Without vitamin C, the body cannot make collagen, the substance that holds the body’s cells together and maintains skin integrity. This product allows more efficient use of vitamin C by slowly releasing it into the body. Each tablet is designed with a sustained release profile to slowly deliver the vitamin C over an extended period of time. This bottle provides 120 days supply.

The price is $14.70

#3 is Vitamin D3.

Vitamin D comes in two forms: D2 and D3. Of the two, D3 is more bioactive. The body synthesizes vitamin D3 from cholesterol and sunlight; which makes it difficult to obtain adequate amounts of vitamin D during cloudy or winter months. In the body, vitamin D is responsible for maintaining normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus, and helping to build strong bones. It works with other vitamins, minerals and hormones to promote bone mineralization. Research shows that vitamin D may help support a healthy immune system by regulating lymphocyte function, cytokine production and macrophage activity. Studies also show that Vitamin D may improve mood. This bottle is 30 days supply. You will need to take 2 TAB once a day. The price is $9.70

My name is Carolyn (77) and my husband's name is Karl (88). We have been hearing about hydroxycholorquine and Ivermectin for preventing and curing Covid-19. (FLCCC) A friend of mine was able to get Ivermectin through Janna Mustafina, CRNP. How would I obtain it? Is it a prescription and where can it be filled since most pharmacies do not have it? I am becoming very concerned because we are hearing friends and people around us who are getting Covid. We are taking the best precautions we can but do see people. I look forward to your assistance. Thank you! 410-757-8840
